Banana Wrasse
Banana Wrasse
Thalassoma lutescens
Not Reef Safe
The Banana Wrasse, also known as the Yellow Wrasse, is an eye-catching fish with a striking bright yellow body that adds a splash of vibrant color to any marine aquarium. Its bold appearance is complemented by its active swimming behavior, making it a lively and engaging presence in the tank. However, the Banana Wrasse is not considered reef safe due to its habit of preying on small invertebrates, including shrimp and snails, and occasionally disturbing coral arrangements. It thrives in larger, fish-only tanks with plenty of open space for swimming and rockwork for hiding. Hardy and adaptable, the Banana Wrasse is a great choice for intermediate aquarists who can accommodate its energetic nature and non-reef safe tendencies.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
