The Bumble Bee Snail is very beneficial to aquariums because of their small size. They can fit into tight locations and clean away waste. Also, they can consume sand-dwelling worms and help balance oxygen in the sand. They do well in aquariums with lots of space and crevices to hide while they feed. Though peaceful, they are carnivores and can feed on other snails when there is not enough food. Like other invertebrates they are sensitive to high levels of nitrate and copper-based medication.
