Chocolate Tang
Chocolate Tang
Acanthurus pyroferus
Reef Safe
The Chocolate Tang, also known as the Chocolate Surgeonfish or Chocolate Brown Tang, is notable for its rich, chocolate-brown coloration with subtle lighter and darker hues. It features a streamlined body and distinct white markings near its tail and dorsal fin. This tang is an excellent algae grazer and is generally considered reef safe. It can be somewhat territorial, especially in smaller tanks or with other tangs, so it's best suited for well-established aquariums with ample live rock for grazing. Its unique coloration and algae-eating abilities make it a valuable and visually striking addition to medium to large reef tanks.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
