The Cleaner Shrimp gets its name from the way it behaves. This peaceful shrimp sets up “cleaning stations” in the sea where fish with parasites come to get cleaned. It is also called the Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp because of the red skunk-like stripe down its back. Their diet consists of freeze dried, frozen, and flake foods. They are sensitive to high nitrate levels and copper-based medications.
