The Cortez Angelfish, also known as the Zonipectus Angelfish, is a striking marine fish known for its vibrant colors and unique markings. It features a deep blue body with bright orange-yellow highlights along the edges of its fins and a distinctive vertical stripe pattern. This eye-catching appearance makes the Cortez Angelfish a prized addition to marine aquariums. Although generally hardy, it is considered reef safe with caution, as it may occasionally nip at soft corals and small invertebrates if not sufficiently fed. Providing a varied diet that includes ample algae and offering plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding can help mitigate such behavior. The Cortez Angelfish thrives in tanks with ample hiding spots and a stable environment, making it a beautiful and manageable choice for experienced aquarists.
