The Eibli Mimic Tang, also known as the Mimic Tang or the Tristis Tang, features a distinctive coloration that mimics the appearance of other tang species. Its body is a deep brown to black with lighter highlights and a subtle pattern that can resemble the Eibli Tang's coloration. This tang is a proficient algae grazer and is generally considered reef safe, though it can exhibit mild territorial behavior, especially with other tangs. It thrives in well-established aquariums with ample live rock for grazing and plenty of swimming space, making it a practical and visually interesting addition to medium to large reef tanks.
