Flameback Angelfish
Flameback Angelfish
Centropyge acanthops
Reef Safe with Caution
The Flameback Angelfish, also known as the African Pygmy Angelfish, is a striking marine fish distinguished by its vibrant blue body and brilliant yellow-orange back. This small, eye-catching dwarf angelfish is a favorite among marine aquarists for its vivid coloration and relatively hardy nature. While generally considered reef safe, it is advised to keep a watchful eye as it may nip at soft corals and small invertebrates, particularly if it becomes underfed. Providing plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding can help reduce this behavior. The Flameback Angelfish is an active and agile swimmer, thriving in tanks with ample hiding spots and a stable environment. It makes a dynamic and manageable addition for aquarists with moderate experience.
