The Gem Tang is a highly sought-after species known for its stunning appearance, featuring a dark body adorned with numerous bright, gem-like spots in shades of orange and yellow. Its sleek, streamlined form and distinctive coloration make it a standout addition to any reef aquarium. This tang is an excellent algae grazer and is generally considered reef safe. However, it can exhibit territorial behavior, especially towards other tangs, so it thrives best in well-established tanks with plenty of swimming space and live rock for grazing. The Gem Tang adds a dramatic splash of color and functionality to medium to large reef tanks.
