Tetraodon nigroviridis
Not Reef Safe
The Green Spotted Puffer is a striking brackish-water fish with a green, spotted body and white underside. Reaching up to six inches and living around 10 years, it’s best suited for experienced aquarists due to its aggressive nature and precise water needs. Puffers can inflate when threatened and use powerful jaws with four plates to crush shellfish, which should make up most of their diet. They aren’t ideal community fish but are intelligent, active, and often recognize their owners. Keep them in a brackish tank with sand, plants, rocks, and open space for swimming.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
