Halfblack Tang
Acanthurus chronixis
Reef Safe
The Halfblack Tang, also known as the Halfblack Surgeonfish, is distinguished by its unique coloration, featuring a body that is half black and half a lighter shade, often ranging from dark gray to brown. This tang is recognized for its streamlined body and elegant appearance. It is an effective algae grazer and is generally considered reef safe. While it may exhibit mild territorial behavior, particularly toward other tangs, it thrives in well-established aquariums with ample swimming space and live rock for grazing. The Halfblack Tang adds both visual interest and functionality to medium to large reef tanks.
