The Indian Triggerfish, scientifically known as Melichthys indicus, is a robust species distinguished by its dark body and vibrant greenish-blue fins. Known for its bold personality, this triggerfish can be semi-aggressive, especially in smaller tanks or when kept with similarly aggressive species. While it is considered reef safe with caution, it may nip at invertebrates or disturb coral structures, so care should be taken when housing it in reef tanks. The Indian Triggerfish thrives in spacious aquariums with ample hiding spots and open swimming areas, making it a striking and active addition to larger, well-maintained marine setups.
