Genicanthus semifasciatus
Reef Safe
The Japanese Masked Angelfish is a uncommon, graceful reef-safe species. Females have pale white bodies that blend into golden hues along the back, marked by a bold black stripe through the eye and tail base. Males, in contrast, showcase radiant yellow orange faces with sleek black striping along their sides. These angelfish form small social groups in rocky reef environments and adapt well to large, mature aquariums of 125 gallons or more with ample swimming space and hiding spots. Unlike most angelfish, they peacefully coexist in reef settings without disturbing corals. Their diet should combine meaty fare with marine algae, including enriched mysis or brine shrimp and high-quality angelfish blends for balanced nutrition.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
Measurements are measured from the tip of the head to end of the tail.
