The Long Spine Urchins are delicate looking animals with really long and thin spines. These nocturnal creatures come out to forage for algae and seaweed at night. These urchins are a great addition to the clean up crew in tanks with aggressive organisms because these urchins can defend itself by directing its spines towards the predator. They should be fed dried seaweed if there are not enough algae present. The shedding of its spines is a sign of poor water quality.
