The Mata Tang, also known as Acanthurus mata, features a sleek body with a deep blue to gray coloration and distinct yellow or white accents on its fins and tail. Its streamlined shape and elegant appearance make it a visually appealing addition to reef aquariums. This tang is an effective algae grazer and is generally considered reef safe. It may exhibit mild territorial behavior, particularly toward other tangs, so providing ample swimming space and live rock for grazing is essential. The Mata Tang adds both beauty and functionality to well-established medium to large reef tanks.
