Queen Angelfish WYSIWYG
Holacanthus ciliaris
Not Reef Safe
The Queen Angelfish, scientifically known as Holacanthus ciliaris, is a majestic and iconic species revered for its stunning coloration and graceful presence. However, despite its beauty, this angelfish is not considered reef-safe due to its predatory nature and potential to nip at corals and other invertebrates. With its striking blue and yellow body adorned with vibrant markings, the Queen Angelfish can cause significant damage to delicate reef structures, making it unsuitable for most reef aquariums. Instead, it is best kept in large fish-only tanks or carefully selected with compatible tank mates in species-specific setups. While admired for its regal appearance, aquarists must be mindful of the Queen Angelfish's feeding habits and territorial behavior when considering its inclusion in an aquarium environment.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
