Red Coris Wrasse
Red Coris Wrasse
Coris gaimard
Reef Safe with Caution
The Red Coris Wrasse, scientifically known as Coris gaimard, is a striking species that undergoes a dramatic color transformation from juvenile to adult. Juveniles are bright red with white spots, while adults develop vibrant green, blue, and orange patterns. Although generally peaceful, this wrasse is considered reef safe with caution, as it may prey on small invertebrates such as shrimp, crabs, and snails. The Red Coris Wrasse thrives in larger aquariums with sandy substrates for burrowing and plenty of live rock for hiding, making it a dynamic and colorful addition to marine tanks, especially in fish-only setups.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
