The Thompson Tang, also known as Acanthurus thompsoni, is distinguished by its striking coloration and elegant form. It features a body with a mix of dark blue and gray tones, often highlighted by lighter or contrasting bands or spots. This tang is a proficient algae grazer and is generally considered reef safe. It may exhibit mild territorial behavior, particularly towards other tangs, so it thrives best in well-established aquariums with ample swimming space and live rock for grazing. The Thompson Tang adds both visual interest and functionality to medium to large reef tanks.
