Reef Safe with Caution
The Venustus Angelfish, also known as the Purplemask Angelfish or Blue-backed Angelfish, is a striking marine fish celebrated for its vibrant colors and unique appearance. It features a brilliant yellow body with a contrasting deep blue back and a distinctive blue mask over its eyes. This beautiful coloration makes the Venustus Angelfish a popular choice for marine aquariums. Although generally hardy, it is considered reef safe with caution, as it may occasionally nip at soft corals and small invertebrates, particularly if not adequately fed. To minimize such behavior, provide a varied diet rich in algae and ensure ample live rock for grazing and hiding. The Venustus Angelfish thrives in tanks with plenty of hiding spots and a stable environment, making it a beautiful and manageable addition for aquarists with moderate experience.
