Reef Safe With Caution
The Yellow Goatfish is a striking, all-golden bottom-dweller that brings constant movement and personality to large marine aquariums. Known for their foraging behavior, these active fish use their sensitive barbels to sift through the sand in search of food, making them both functional and fascinating to watch. Juveniles tend to focus on small invertebrates within the substrate, while adults may also consume crustaceans, worms, and even smaller fish. Due to their size and energetic nature, they require a tank of at least 150 gallons with open swimming space, a soft sand bed, and scattered rockwork for resting and shelter. Although hardy and generally peaceful, they do best with non-aggressive tankmates. The Yellow Goatfish thrives on a varied, protein-rich diet and should be fed multiple times daily to maintain health and reduce foraging pressure on tank mates.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
