Arrowhead Soapfish WYSIWYG

Belonoperca chabanaudi

Reef Safe with Caution

The Arrowhead Soapfish is a rare and fascinating marine species recognized by its unique greenish body, intricate markings, and striking blue and black accents along its fins. Reaching approximately 6 inches in length, this elusive fish thrives in a spacious, established aquarium with subdued lighting and plenty of rocky caves, ledges, and shaded areas to explore. Although generally peaceful toward larger tankmates and unlikely to disturb corals, its predatory instincts make smaller fish and ornamental invertebrates potential prey. A protein-rich diet of mysis shrimp, chopped seafood, and other meaty marine foods is essential for maintaining its health. One of its most unusual characteristics is its ability to release a soap-like toxin when severely stressed or threatened, making careful handling and a stable environment especially important. With its distinctive appearance and limited availability, the Arrowhead Soapfish is an exceptional choice for experienced aquarists looking to add something truly uncommon to their marine collection.

These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
