Reef Safe With Caution
The Blackstripe Basslet is a seldom-seen deepwater reef fish featuring a vibrant golden-yellow body divided by a dramatic dark stripe from head to tail. Growing to roughly 3–4 inches, this naturally secretive species is most comfortable in an established aquarium with rocky crevices, caves, and lower-light areas where it can retreat and explore. Once acclimated, it is typically a peaceful inhabitant, although keeping multiple individuals together may result in territorial behavior. Offer a variety of protein-rich foods such as mysis, finely chopped seafood, and other appropriately sized frozen preparations. Its unusual coloration, elusive nature, and limited availability make the Blackstripe Basslet an impressive choice for experienced marine aquarists seeking something rarely encountered in home aquariums.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
Measurements are measured from the tip of the head to end of the tail.
Approximate Measurement: 3.25 inches
