The Burgess x Declivis hybrid Butterflyfish is a captivating and rare beauty that blends the striking traits of its parent species into one elegant marine showpiece. This hybrid features a harmonious mix of bold coloration, showcasing a pearly white body adorned with black bands reminiscent of the Burgess' Butterfly, alongside soft orange hues across the dorsal region and a subtle mask over the eyes, echoing the Declivis lineage. The contrasting patterns and refined markings make this fish a standout in any saltwater aquarium. Though relatively hardy, the hybrid Butterflyfish is naturally shy and thrives in aquariums with abundant live rock, offering ample hiding places and grazing surfaces. A tank of at least 80 gallons is recommended to support its active swimming and foraging behavior. It is not reef safe, as it may nip at feather dusters, anemones, and coral polyps.
