The Colin’s Angelfish is a dwarf angelfish known for its vibrant yellow coloration contrasted by a deep blue back and dorsal fin. This species can be somewhat shy when first introduced and does best in an established aquarium of 70 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock, caves, and sheltered areas to explore and graze. Although naturally accustomed to dimmer environments, Colin’s Angelfish can gradually adapt to the brighter lighting found in many modern reef systems. It is generally best kept as the only dwarf angelfish in the aquarium and introduced before larger or more active tankmates, allowing it time to become comfortable with its surroundings. Like many dwarf angels, it may occasionally nip at corals, particularly smaller SPS frags, so some caution is recommended in reef aquariums. A varied diet of marine algae, Spirulina, quality angelfish foods, mysis shrimp, and other meaty frozen foods will help maintain strong coloration and overall health.
