The Convict Tang, also known as the Convict Surgeonfish or the Three-Striped Surgeonfish, is a striking marine species characterized by its bold black and white stripes that give it a convict-like appearance. Reef safe and generally peaceful, this tang thrives in well-established aquariums with plenty of rockwork and swimming space. It plays a beneficial role in controlling algae growth and is known for its active grazing behavior. The Convict Tang requires a stable environment with stable water conditions and a varied diet to maintain its health and coloration, making it an excellent addition to reef and fish-only tanks.
