Reef Safe With Caution
The Debs Angelfish is a vibrant dwarf angelfish that thrive in mature aquariums of 80 gallons or larger. These fish require ample swimming space and intricate rock structures with caves and crevices for grazing and shelter. Their coloration can appear black but reveals a deep, rich blue under proper lighting. While generally hardy, they may nip at both mobile and sessile invertebrates, so caution is advised in reef environments. Feed them a varied diet of meaty marine foods, algae, and angelfish-specific preparations multiple times daily to maintain health and coloration. They are hermaphroditic and can become territorial toward similarly shaped angelfish, though housing multiple individuals together in a sufficiently large tank, especially if introduced simultaneously, it can help reduce aggression. Handle them carefully, avoiding nets due to their sharp cheek spines.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
