Chaetodon ulietensis

Not reef safe

The Double Saddle Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ulietensis), also known as the False Falcula or Saddled Butterflyfish, is an eye-catching species known for its elegant pattern and peaceful nature. Its body is primarily white with fine vertical black striping, transitioning to bright yellow toward the tail. Distinctive markings include two dark saddle-like patches along the upper back, a black eye band, and a dark spot near the base of the tail.

Best suited for a fish-only setup, this butterflyfish thrives in aquariums of 120 gallons or more, especially those with ample swimming space, live rock for exploring, and peaceful tankmates. While it can coexist with other butterflyfish, it is not reef-safe, as it may nip at soft corals, stony corals, mushrooms, and anemones.

To support its health and coloration, provide a varied diet rich in meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality frozen blends, along with supplemental vegetable matter. A well-balanced diet and a stable environment will help this graceful swimmer flourish in captivity.

These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.

Due to variations within species, your item may not look identical to the image.

Measurements are measured from the tip of the head to end of the tail.
