The Dragon Wrasse (Novaculichthys taeniourus) is an intriguing and visually striking fish, known for its unique dragon-like appearance and vibrant coloration, which often includes shades of green, blue, and brown with intricate patterns. This species is characterized by its elongated body and large dorsal fin, giving it a distinctive silhouette that stands out in any marine aquarium. While the Dragon Wrasse is generally reef safe, it may exhibit some territorial behavior and has been known to disturb smaller or more delicate invertebrates. It thrives in tanks with plenty of live rock for hiding and exploring, as well as stable water conditions. Hardy and relatively easy to care for, this wrasse is suitable for intermediate and experienced aquarists looking to add an exotic and dynamic presence to their reef setup.
