The False Shepard’s Angelfish is a rare and eye-catching hybrid resulting from a cross between the Flame Angelfish and Rusty Angelfish. This compact dwarf angel showcases a brilliant reddish-orange body accented by striking deep blue on the dorsal and anal fins, creating a vivid splash of color in any saltwater aquarium. Typically grows up to 5 inches, this species is well-suited for tanks 60 gallons or larger, where it can explore live rock structures and establish its territory. In the wild, it frequents coral-rich reef slopes and rocky crevices, weaving through coral formations in search of food and refuge. In captivity, it can generally be considered reef-safe, especially when kept well-fed and provided with a consistent feeding routine. As an omnivore, the False Shepard’s Angelfish thrives on a varied diet that includes high-quality flakes, marine pellets, and frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and spirulina. Regular feeding and a stable tank environment help maintain its vivid coloration and peaceful disposition. With its vibrant hybrid appearance and manageable size, this angelfish is a standout choice for hobbyists seeking a unique and colorful addition to their marine display.
