Coris formosa
Reef Safe With Caution
The Formosa Wrasse (Coris formosa) is a visually striking fish, known for its dramatic color transformation as it matures. Juveniles display a vibrant orange and white striped pattern, while adults develop deep shades of green, blue, and yellow, making it a stunning centerpiece in any aquarium. This wrasse is an active swimmer and burrower, often diving into the sand to rest or hide. While it can coexist with larger, more robust fish, caution is needed in reef setups as it may prey on small invertebrates, such as snails and crustaceans. A spacious tank with ample sand beds and rockwork is ideal for this hardy species. The Formosa Wrasse is best suited for experienced aquarists due to its size and specific care requirements.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
