The Four Line Cleaner Wrasse is a striking blue fish marked by four bold black stripes running from head to tail. Native to the coral-rich waters of the Red Sea, it grows up to five inches and is generally peaceful, though it may show aggression toward other Wrasses or smaller fish. As a juvenile, it serves as a cleaner fish, removing parasites from tankmates, even entering their mouths and gills, before transitioning in adulthood to feed on coral polyps, making it unsuitable for reef tanks. Ideal for a 30-gallon or larger fish-only aquarium, it thrives with live rock, caves, and sandy substrate, along with a secure lid to prevent jumping. Its diet should include meaty fare such as mysis and brine shrimp, chopped seafood, and frozen carnivore preparations.
