French Angelfish
Pomacanthus paru
Reef Safe with Caution
The French Angelfish is a striking marine fish known for its dramatic coloration and elegant appearance. It features a deep black body adorned with bright yellow accents along the edges of its fins and distinctive vertical yellow stripes running from head to tail. This vivid coloration, combined with its relatively large size, makes the French Angelfish a standout addition to marine aquariums. Although generally hardy, it is considered reef safe with caution, as it may occasionally nip at soft corals and small invertebrates, particularly if not adequately fed. To minimize such behavior, offer a varied diet that includes ample algae and provide plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. The French Angelfish thrives in tanks with ample hiding spots and a stable environment, making it a beautiful and manageable choice for experienced aquarists.
