Gymnothorax miliaris
Not Reef Safe
The Gold Spotted Moray Eel is a striking marine eel known for its distinctive spotted pattern and highly variable coloration. Depending on its collection location, individuals may display a golden-yellow body covered in dark spots, a deep brown body with numerous small white spots, or a yellowish base with dark brown mottling. Its bold coloration and classic moray eel appearance make it an impressive addition to larger marine aquariums. The Gold Spotted Moray Eel should be provided with plenty of secure rockwork, caves, and hiding spaces where it can retreat during the day. A tightly fitted aquarium lid is essential, as moray eels are skilled escape artists. While generally not a threat to corals, it may prey on fish, shrimp, crabs, and other invertebrates small enough to consume, so it is not considered fully reef safe.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
Measurements are measured from the tip of the head to end of the tail.
