Reef Safe
The Golden Lined Rabbitfish is a vibrant and hardworking algae grazer, known for its shimmering blue body marked with golden lines and a bright yellow patch near the tail. Active and fast-swimming, it thrives in large aquariums of ideally 120 gallons or more with ample horizontal space, where it spends much of its time visibly grazing on nuisance algae. Generally peaceful, it can coexist with a wide range of tankmates, including in predator tanks, thanks to venomous dorsal spines that offer protection but require caution when handling. While reef-safe with caution, a well-fed Golden Lined Rabbitfish is less likely to nip at corals, especially soft and LPS varieties, and many aquarists report good behavior from captive-bred specimens. To support health and reduce coral interest, its omnivorous diet should include marine algae, nori, frozen herbivore blends.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
