Hippocampus kuda
Reef Safe
The Kuda Seahorse is a peaceful and captivating species that can range in color from yellow and tan to nearly black, often with subtle spotting or markings. A mature aquarium of 30 gallons or larger with gentle flow and plenty of hitching areas is recommended, as seahorses spend much of their time anchored rather than actively swimming. They do best with other slow, non-aggressive species that will not compete heavily for food, while stinging corals and anemones should be avoided. Captive-bred Kuda Seahorses readily accept frozen mysis shrimp along with other small meaty foods and benefit from several small feedings throughout the day. Stable, clean water and consistent maintenance are especially important for keeping this species healthy.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
