The Phantom Bannerfish, also known as the Phantom Banner or the Black-Striped Bannerfish, is a striking marine fish noted for its elegant appearance and unique coloration. It features a white body with distinct black vertical stripes and a long, flowing dorsal fin that resembles a banner. This combination of colors and the fin shape makes the Phantom Bannerfish a standout addition to marine aquariums. While generally hardy, the Phantom Bannerfish is considered reef safe with caution, as it may occasionally nip at soft corals, anemones, and small invertebrates if not well-fed. To minimize such behavior, provide a varied diet and ensure ample live rock for grazing and hiding. The Phantom Bannerfish thrives in well-established tanks with plenty of swimming space and stable water conditions, making it a suitable choice for aquarists with some experience. Additionally, it is known to be social in the wild, so keeping them in small schools can help them feel more secure and exhibit natural behaviors in the aquarium.
