The Velvet Wrasse is a vibrant reef-safe fish known for its striking maroon body accented by a yellow streak and blue highlights, with females displaying more subdued olive, blue, and red-spotted tones. Best kept in aquariums of 80 gallons or larger. This active species is peaceful toward corals and invertebrates but requires a secure lid due to its tendency to jump. A balanced diet of vitamin-enriched mysis and brine shrimp, meaty foods, and quality marine flakes or pellets will keep it healthy and thriving.
