Reef Safe
The White Bar Tang is an energetic marine fish distinguished by the bright white band along the side of its head, which creates a sharp contrast against its darker body. An established aquarium of at least 120 gallons is recommended to give this active swimmer plenty of room to roam, along with mature rockwork where it can naturally browse for algae throughout the day. While typically a good candidate for reef systems, it may become territorial with other surgeonfish, particularly species with a similar shape or swimming pattern. Like all surgeonfish, the White Bar Tang carries a sharp spine near the tail that serves as a natural defense, so care should be taken during handling. Regular feedings of seaweed and other algae-rich foods should form the foundation of its diet, with quality marine pellets, frozen foods, and occasional meaty offerings providing additional variety.
These fish are for saltwater aquariums only.
Due to variations within species, your item may not look identical to the image.
Measurements are measured from the tip of the head to end of the tail.
