The Zebra Tang is a rare and captivating surgeonfish that sparks excitement whenever it becomes available in the aquarium trade. This tang stands out with its bold black vertical stripes and intricate facial markings. Unlike many of its larger relatives, the Zebra Tang remains relatively compact, reaching a maximum size of around 5 inches, making it well-suited for modestly sized reef tanks. An active grazer by nature, it thrives on a diet rich in marine algae, but benefits from the addition of protein-rich foods like mysis shrimp to maintain energy and coloration. Due to its scarcity and striking appearance, the Zebra Tang is a prized addition for collectors seeking something truly unique and eye-catching.
